How do captains register a team?
Captains click Register your team on your website or embedded form and fill in their details. They get an email with their captain link, and each teammate with an email gets their own link.
On this page
Captains sign their own teams up. There’s no account to create and no app to download. One person, the captain, registers for the whole team.
Before you start: registration has to be open (click Open registration on the Overview checklist), and captains need somewhere to sign up: your Pinli website or the registration form embedded on your own site.
What the captain fills in
- The captain clicks Register your team on your website.
- Who’s the captain? Full name, email and phone. All three are required.
- Name your team. They can change it later.
- Bring your teammates? They pick Yes, add them now or Not yet. A teammate only needs a name. Email and phone are optional.
- They check everything and click Register my team.
When online payments are on, the captain can then pay for the full team, pay just their own seat, or choose I’ll pay later.
What does the captain get by email?
Every team has two links:
- Captain link: goes only to the captain. It opens the team page where they can add teammates, rename the team and pay. On tournament day it’s also how they keep score.
- Teammate link: goes to every teammate who has an email on file. It shows the team and lets them pay their own seat, but it can’t change the roster.
The captain can also copy the teammate link from their team page and share it however they like.
What you see
Every organizer gets an email when a team registers, and the team shows up in Teams right away.
Common questions
A captain lost their email. How do I get them their link? Open the team in Teams, click the link icon (Share links) and choose Captain link. It’s copied, ready to paste into a text or email.
Can two teams use the same email? No. An email can only be on one team per tournament, captain or teammate.
What happens when the field is full? If you have a reserve list, new captains can still sign up as a reserve team. They confirm they understand before they submit. If there’s no room on either, registration shows as closed.
How many teams can register during the free trial? Up to 5, counting teams you add yourself. Activate the tournament to open your full field.
