How do sponsorships that include a team work?
Give a sponsor level included team slots. When the sponsor pays, or you mark them paid, Pinli creates their teams already paid, and each captain gets a link to fill in the roster.

Many tournaments sell a sponsorship that comes with a team, like “Gold: $2,500, includes a foursome.” Pinli handles this for you. The sponsor pays once, and their team is created, paid and ready for a roster.
Set it up
- Go to Sponsors and click Edit levels.
- Add or edit a level and set Included team slots to the number of teams it comes with.
- Save. The level now shows “Includes 1 foursome” (or however many).
What the sponsor sees
When a sponsor picks a level that includes teams, the sign-up form adds a step for them:
- Will you be playing? If they answer Yes or Maybe, they manage the first team themselves.
- For each team, they can give it a name and name a captain with an email. Anyone they leave blank, they manage themselves.
When are the teams created?
Teams are created when the sponsorship is paid: either the sponsor pays online, or you click Mark paid on the sponsor. Then:
- Each team is added to your field, already paid. If the sponsor didn’t name it, it’s called something like “Acme Foursome 1”.
- The sponsor gets an email with links to manage their teams. Any captain they named gets their own email with a link to their team.
- The captain opens the link and adds teammates, like any other team. Everyone added is marked paid.
The sponsor can also manage their teams from their sponsor page, under Your teams.
Find a sponsor’s team
Open the sponsor. Included team shows how many teams they have, with a link to open the team. If it says Not claimed yet, the teams haven’t been created, usually because the sponsorship isn’t paid yet.
Common questions
Do included teams count toward my field size? Yes. They take spots like any other team. If your field is full when the sponsorship is paid, the teams aren’t created, so leave room for them.
Can the captain swap players after the team is paid? Yes. On a sponsor’s team, the captain can edit and remove players even though they’re marked paid. The sponsorship covers the spots, not specific people.
If I change a level’s team slots, does it affect sponsors who already signed up? No. Sponsors keep the number of teams their level had when they signed up. The change applies to new sponsors.
Does this work during the free trial? Included teams count toward the trial’s 5-team limit. If marking a sponsor paid would go over it, Pinli won’t mark them paid until you activate or make room.
